Iconic logos are designed to be freestanding (away from text) but will usually require name identification unless used relentlessly in media. Icon themed logos don't have to be boring - in fact, far from it - but they do need to be fairly simple in their execution. Even with these design restrictions, icon logos have a myriad of options and treamtments available.
