Logo Design - Frequently Asked Questions

What should I think about when designing a logo?

YOU should think if you want a illustrative logo ( a logo that includes an illustrative representation of what your company does), a graphic logo (a logo that includes a graphic - or abstract - representation of what your company does), or a font-based logo (a dynamic type treatment that is unique to your company), or a combination of all three. You should also consider the future usage's of your logo as this can determine the technical set up of your design and might pose some design limitations (your TLF designer can advise you of these limitations and possible workarounds). You should also consider color choices - whether you utilize a two spot color, or four color process design will greatly impact any reproduction rates in the future. Once again, The Logo Factory can advise you on the ways to maximize your reproduction possibilities while maintaining your logo dynamics.

Can my logo be ordered and designed completely over the web?

YES. In fact, despite our walk-in studios, 90% of our logo design projects are web-based. Your requirements can be submitted by our JOB SUBMISSION FORM . This information is passed on to our on-staff designers who will create your logo to your specifications (color, concept, content and usage). They will then post your logo in -progress via our password protected Factory Floor. You will be issued a unique code so that you can visit this restricted access site and preview your logo, and at the same time e-mail revisions and suggestions, all without leaving your office. Once your logo is completed, you can download ALL the required file formats directly from this area (as well as via a CD which is shipped to all TLF clients). Once your logo is created, you can work with The Logo Factory to create web design, animation and stationery in the same manner.

Can I visit the TLF Studios and work one-on-one with my designer?

YES. Our studios are open to clients 8 AM - 6 PM. We can also meet with clients after -hours and weekends. All in-house sessions are by prior appointment and are subject to an hourly billable charge. Contact our client support department for further information and/or to book studio time. Remote clients can work live with our desigers via our Chat Radio sessions.

I wish to order a logo design but I am from another country. Is this a problem?

NOT at all. In fact, most of our clients are international. We have designed logos for clients in Canada, the US, Germany, Japan, Finland, England, Russia, Guam and Australia. The Web has allowed companies and individuals such as yourself to utilize the skills and talents of people you may not have had access to before. And it has allowed us to work with clients who we may not have had the opportunity before. Our secure credit card ORDERING allows international clients to instantly enter our job queue without the delay of sending checks or money orders.

How do I order and pay for my logo design?

WE have streamlined the entire ordering and payment process. To order your design, simply fill out our online job submission FORM. You will then be directed to a payment option page where we accept check, money order, or for instant queuing of your job, by credit card via our secure servers). On project sign-off you can access the same form system to pay balance and order additional post-design material.

How long does this procedure take?

WE have a number of logo creation packages packages to match your time requirements and budget. Each logo design package features a different delivery time but ALL feature the same TLF quality and attention to your requirements (premium packages also feature additional material). Depending on the package required, you can have your preliminary logo designs available for review the next day (PLATINUM Service), 3 business days (GOLD service) or for a more economical service, 1 week (SILVER service) and 2 week packages (STANDARD service). Digital delivery (via e-mail) is usually the same day that approval is given and final payment is received. If applicable, a CD of all your files is sent out via Federal Express courier at that time. Since every job is unique, these times are average. Please SUBMIT our rates request form for up-to-date turnaround times and scheduling.

What is The Factory Floor?

THE LOGO FACTORY was one of the pioneers of online design, and as such our Factory Floor concept has become one of the most imitated features of our design firm. The Factory Floor is a password protected area of our our web site, where clients log-in and view their work in progress, request changes and edits from their designers and finally download all applicable files once their project is completed. Your Factory Floor page is only accessible you, so your logo will remain under wraps until you are ready to announce it to the world.

How do I communicate with my designer and The Logo Factory?

AS the majority of our design clients are remote, The Logo Factory has always strove to make our company, and designers, accessible to ALL our clients, whether they are around the corner or around the world. Clients can communicate with us through e-mail, fax, chat and telephone (our clients have access to our no-charge VOICE CONNECT system). We have a full time client support staff that can direct any communication to the correct personnel and/or department. We do, however, recommend commmunication via e-mail so that any revisions, edits and communication will be added to your job file. This will enable us to always have access to your requests and comments.

What is the procedure should I not 'click' with my designer, or they cannot seem to deliver designs that match my vision?

IN the unlikely event that the designer assigned to your project cannot deliver designs that you feel are appropriate we simply assign another of our designers. While each of our on-staff designers is fully experienced in logo design of ALL types, they also have very unique personal styles and vision. Because of the diversity of our designer's styles, we can usually form an effective 'match'.

How many revisions and edits to my preliminary designs are allowed?

IN order to make the design process as stress-free as possible, here is no fixed amount to the amount of revisions and edits we will commit to. We simply tell clients that we will continue to edit and revise 'within reason' until we create the logo desired. On certain projects we can create the 'perfect' logo in the first round, while others will take longer. This allows us to sepnd more time on the more difficult projects. With our extensive experience in logo design, our team can generally guide clients through the design process without this ever becoming an issue.

How is my new logo delivered?

IN several ways. You can download your logo (once finished) directly from your Factory Floor page. We then send different formats and applications to you by e-mail. Floppy disk, CD and/or hard copy (film and print) versions can be sent to you by Federal Express if applicable. To give you some creative ideas on using your new logo, we also include help guides, and exclusive 'GOODIES'.

ALL files are delivered in cross-platform disks for complete compatibility for third party service providers (i.e.: film/art service bureaus and/or printers). Files can also be e-mail to you (for larger files TLF may use Stuffit or .ZIP compression), and your files can be downloaded at your leisure from your Factory Floor page.
